It’s more important than ever to ensure that everyone in your meetings can participate as fully as possible. This handy 3-page guide takes the guesswork out for you. A more accessible meeting means a better meeting for everyone, regardless of ability.

This guide is based on tips and suggestions from my own experience, as well as from several colleagues, some with lived experience of disability. The main principle behind all of this to ensure that people of all abilities can participate as fully as possible when working together, regardless of disability (whether it’s physical, sensory, cognitive, or neurological).

When to use this guide

  • Use this guide before, during, and after your online or in-person meetings or workshops.
  • You can also use it as a way of involving others; give them tasks to help upskill them, and increase engagement.

The spirit of all of this is not to perform accessibility at one person; it is to run the meeting well for everyone. As the facilitator, accessibility is your responsibility, not anyone else’s regardless of ability
