Switching our thinking on energy usage and production
Animated explainer video about demand-side flexibility for smartEn, Europe.
The challenge
Accelerating our transition to renewable energy is exciting, but all the technical aspects and jargon can make it really hard for the average punter to understand, let alone be motivated to invest in making changes in the home.
smartEn approached us to create a sketch animation video that would transform their script into an attractive, intriguing and educational short video (above).
Our approach
We firstly worked with smartEn to refine their draft script. There is always room for improvement to craft a script that not only communicates clearly and succinctly, but also engages the head, heart and hands. And if it engages the ‘Share’ button, even better!
Once the script was approved, we followed our regular process of overall vision and story concept, sketching drafts of every scene, and then illustrating each final scene as it will appear in the video. This is done closely with reviews and feedback from the client.
Once each scene illustration is finalised, we then animate it, and add other aspects to enhance the experience, such as music, and of course a voiceover track.
The outcome
smartEn were super happy with the result, and have engaged us on further work since. They have been using this video in presentations, trade booths and demonstrations at a wide variety of conferences and other events.
This helps to position smartEn as a best-in-class partner of choice for harnessing emerging renewable energy technologies.
It’s always a pleasure working together! We have been sharing the video extensively, including showcasing it on a big screen at our booth in Munich for The Smarter E.
